This past Saturday I stepped into the role of “Ace Diamond, Global Journalist” for the Dallas MegaGames’ December 2022 run of Watch the Skies.

When you first attend a Megagame, simply reading the provided rules and showing up on time is enough to have a great time. After a while, you might find yourself wanting to take the step into over-preparation. Here's how I over-prepared for my first play of Den of Wolves this year.

When recruiting someone to play a Megagame, the first thing you usually do is explain the concept of the game (i.e. . It's kind of like [X] but with 40 people!) A common follow-up might be ‘but what's that like? Isn't it a little much?’ The answer? It's awesome and it's just enough.

When playing in your first Megagame, some players may find it important to set goals for either the game as a whole or for individual turns. How can you approach these goals? What is the best way to find a goal to pursue? Let’s talk about that.
